Step-by-Step Guide for Patients

  1. Please complete our Contact-Us form on the website.
  2. Our Patient Services staff, headed by Gladys McGraw, will contact you to answer your questions and explain our Med Expert Chile procedures. Our staff will verify you have a current Passport and expiration date. If you do not yet have one, we will help with an expedited application.
  3. We will send you a complete information package and forms specific to your case to request your medical records and your medical history.
  4. Please complete the forms and return them to us.
  5. Our Medical Director will review your medical records, then call you to discuss your best options. You will be referred to the specialist physician who is providing your medical care.
  6. Our specialist will review the medical information and contact you, by phone or Skype, and discuss their findings, thoughts on treatment and review your medical and surgical options.
  7. We will work with you to schedule your medical/surgical appointments at our partner hospital, and arrange your travel, hotel reservation, and all logistics for your trip.
  8. If a friend or family member will be accompanying you, we will ask them to provide basic medical information for that person in case they have a medical emergency while traveling.
  9. Our Chief of Patient Services in Chile, Rodrigo Meneses, will arrange a Skype or Facetime conference call with you before you leave US so you can “greet” the person who will meet you at the airport and be with you for check-in at the hotel and hospital.
  10. After your arrival in Chile, we will be with you at every step to accompany you for admission into our partner hospital. If you choose, we will join you in interviews with our specialist surgeons in Chile before surgery, and any consultations with the medical team.
  11. On your Surgery Day, our Patient Services staff will accompany you to meet with your surgeon and the anesthesiologist, as well as be there when you are in the recovery area to assist you in returning to your room or to the hotel.
  12. For your return home, just as we welcomed you to Chile, Rodrigo Meneses and/or his staff, will accompany you to the airport and assist you through the departure process.
  13. Upon leaving Chile, we will provide you with copies of all your medical-surgical records for your treatment in Chile, for you to share with your home physicians as you wish.
  14. Coordinating with your home physicians: We will stay connected with your physicians to provide any information needed for your post-surgical care.
